Your Mercedes-Benz is more than a vehicle – it has a documented origin. The Mercedes-Benz Classic Birth Certificate documents the delivery condition of your vehicle as recorded in the available historical archive records. This personalized and representative document is produced on high-quality paper and delivered in a specially designed presentation folder.
Using the Vehicle Identification Number and upon presentation of proof of ownership, the Birth Certificate is created on the basis of the available historical archive records.
Depending on the vehicle type, model year and the archive records available for the respective vehicle, it may contain the following information:
• VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
• VIN for U.S. vehicles
• Brand
• Vehicle type
• Body style
• Shipping date
• Engine number
• Transmission number
• Paint finish
• Interior trim
• Optional equipment
Availability: The Birth Certificate is available for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars from January 1, 1986, to December 31, 2010. AMG, van and smart models are excluded from this offer.
Important information regarding content: The information relates exclusively to the delivery condition documented in the available historical archive records. Any modifications, conversions, repairs, restorations or replacement of vehicle components carried out after delivery are not taken into account. No inspection or technical examination of the specific vehicle is performed.
The Birth Certificate therefore does not provide any statement regarding the current condition, present-day originality, authenticity, roadworthiness, eligibility for registration or value of the vehicle or any individual vehicle components. In particular, it does not constitute a certificate of authenticity, valuation report, proof of ownership or technical appraisal. The purchaser’s statutory rights remain unaffected.
Exclusion of the right of withdrawal: The Birth Certificate is produced individually based on the Vehicle Identification Number provided by the purchaser and the historical archive information assigned to the respective vehicle. As it is not a prefabricated product and is created specifically for an individual vehicle, there is no right of withdrawal pursuant to Section 312g (2) No. 1 of the German Civil Code (BGB).
