The future needs a source - the Mercedes-Benz Museum opens fascinating perspectives on an innovative culture that has been alive for more than 130 years. More than eight million people have been enthusiastic about it during the exhibition and events from the concert to the cinema event.
Curtain on an automobile invented by Carl Benz in 1886: The museum brings to life its history and stories on the connection between technology and everyday life, from contemporary history and popular culture. More than 160 vehicles of all kinds are the main actors. Their range ranges from some of the oldest automobiles in history to legendary racing cars to research vehicles. Together with other exhibits, they form the heart of the permanent exhibition in twelve rooms with a total area of 16,500 square meters.

But it is not just the content of the Mercedes-Benz Museum, which fascinates this place of innovation. The unique design is by the Dutch architect Ben van Berkel of UN Studio. He created a visionary building whose walls and ceilings consist of double-curved, highly individual components. At the beginning of the 2000s, this design method was at the limit of the technically feasible.
The structure of the building is reminiscent of the double helix of human DNA in which the genome information is stored. Thus, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is also a built symbol for the visionary power of the inventors and developers of the automobile. Their energy has always been in the genes of the Mercedes-Benz brand.
